Spring Break in Florida: Sunshine, Shark Teeth, and Sweet Memories

After a busy start to the year at Saltwater Boys Co., our family hit pause for a much-needed Spring Break getaway. We packed up the boys (and my 34-week pregnant self!) and headed south for our favorite family destination—Anna Maria Island, Florida. If you’ve never been, it’s the perfect blend of old Florida charm, sugar-white sand, and slow, simple days. Just what this mama needed.

     

Our days were full of everything that makes a coastal family vacation unforgettable—beach strolls, hunting for shark teeth (more on that in a sec!), soaking up the sun, and plenty of snacks packed in between towel forts and seashells.

One of the coolest moments of the trip? We found a shark tooth on the beach! It felt extra special because my dad is a lifelong shark tooth hunter—he even has a collection that includes a few Megalodon teeth. Fun fact: that little obsession of his actually inspired one of our very first (and best selling!) Saltwater Boys Co. tees. There's just something about the ocean that sparks wonder, isn’t there? Of course, no trip is complete without great food, and we’ve got to give a major small business shoutout to Topsail Steamer—hands down our favorite meal of the trip! Their signature seafood steam pots made for an easy, delicious dinner at home (perfect when you’re juggling two wild toddlers and a baby bump). We love supporting fellow small businesses, especially ones that make vacation dinner cleanup a breeze.

Another highlight? A day spent at The Florida Aquarium—educational and air-conditioned, which is a big win when you’re traveling with varying ages of kids. The boys loved seeing the rays, sharks, and all things slimy and scaly. It’s such a fun stop for families with kids of all ages.
